Cuticell® Contact is a sterile primary dressing for slightly to heavily exuding wounds that adheres to the wound environment but not to the moist wound (Siltec® technology).
The silicone-based wound contact layer protects wounds from traumatisation and promotes wound stability through long dressing times. Cuticell® Contact acts as a protective layer and reduces the risk of the dressing sticking to the wound bed. The special perforated structure, transparency and pliability round off the product perfectly.
Properties
- Atraumatic removal: The silicone-coated wound contact layer only adheres to the dry wound environment with soft silicone-coated wound contact layer, not to the moist wound surface. This promotes an undisturbed healing process through atraumatic dressing changes.
- Permeable to air and wound secretions: Supports the moist healing environment by being permeable to air and secretions. Allows the wound fluid to be absorbed by a suitable absorbent pad.
- Silicone base: Coated on one side with soft silicone. Whilst the wound fluid can pass through, ingrowth of the absorbent secondary dressing into the wound is prevented.

Application
Whilst the wound exudate can pass unhindered through the silicone-coated dressing, the absorbent secondary dressing is prevented from ingrowing into the wound. In this way, the secondary dressing can be renewed at any time without traumatising the wound. The result is an undisturbed healing process and a high level of safety in therapy.
Cuticell® Contact is suitable for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds, such as:
- leg ulcers, pressure sores
- surgical wounds
- blistering
- 1st and 2nd degree burns
- Split skin wounds
- Cuts, abrasions and skin tears
Cuticell® Contact can be used as a wound contact layer in conjunction with negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT). Cuticell Contact® can be combined with antiseptics.
Duration of application: up to 14 days depending on the condition of the wound (e.g. amount of exudate) and the choice of secondary dressing.
Ingredients
Cuticell® Contact consists of a thin, elastic polyurethane film coated on one side with soft silicone.
