ConvaTec Aquacel ® Foam adhesive is a sterile foam dressing that provides reliable wound edge protection thanks to Hydrofibre® technology. Ideal for exuding wounds.

AQUACEL® Foam consists of a waterproof outer layer of polyurethane film and a multi-layer absorbent wound pad. The foam dressing is available in various adhesive and non-adhesive versions. The adhesive versions have a silicone adhesive edge. The multi-layer wound pad consists of a layer of polyurethane foam and a wound contact layer made of Hydrofibre® technology (sodium carboxymethyl cellulose).

Areas of application

AQUACEL® Foam is suitable for the treatment of acute and chronic, moderately exuding wounds, e.g:

leg ulcers
decubitus ulcers
Diabetic foot ulcers
Surgical wounds
Traumatic wounds
Second degree burns

Adapts precisely to the wound bed and eliminates untreated areas (dead spaces) where bacteria and biofilm can grow
Locks in excess exudate, protects the intact wound environment and prevents maceration due to vertical fluid absorption
Ensures an optimal moisture balance in the wound to maintain a moist, warm wound healing environment, while the gel helps to minimise pain during dressing changes

Application

The AQUACEL® Foam dressing can be used as part of a comprehensive care protocol to protect the intact skin from lesions. AQUACEL® Foam dressings can be used as a primary or secondary dressing.
