The Coloplast Comfeel® Plus transparent hydrocolloid dressing is ideal for superficial, slightly exuding wounds. It ensures an undisturbed healing phase thanks to fewer change intervals and high user-friendliness.
Comfeel® Plus transparent hydrocolloid dressings are indicated for a wide range of non-exuding to slightly exuding wounds. The dressings are indicated for chronic wounds such as leg ulcers and pressure sores as well as acute wounds such as superficial burns, superficial second-degree burns, extraction sites, post-operative wounds and skin abrasions. The dressing can be worn for up to 7 days depending on the specific characteristics of the wound. Comfeel® Plus Transparent can be used as a primary and secondary dressing.
Reliable protection
Comfeel® Plus Transparent hydrocolloid dressings ensure a moist wound healing environment and protect the wound in the final stages of wound healing. The outer film is water and bacteria repellent to protect the wound from external influences and smooth to reduce friction. The semi-permeable outer film allows moisture to evaporate while maintaining a moist wound healing environment.
Wound monitoring
Comfeel® Plus Transparent hydrocolloid dressings have a grid template for wound monitoring and a change indicator. The transparent material allows the wound to be assessed without having to remove the dressing. Fewer dressing changes and less wound disruption for faster healing.
User-friendly design
Comfeel®l Plus Transparent hydrocolloid dressings have a 3-part non-touch application system that enables aseptic and controlled application. The turquoise-coloured touch points serve as a guide during the application process. The packaging has life-size photos of the dressings to facilitate product selection. The pouches have application illustrations for optimum guidance.
Mode of action
When the dressing comes into contact with the wound exudate, it forms a viscous gel that absorbs the exudate but does not stick to the wound bed (1). Excess moisture evaporates through the semi-permeable outer film.
Composition of the product
Comfeel® Plus Transparent consists of moisture-absorbing sodium carboxyl methylcellulose (CMC) particles embedded in a synthetic, elastic and sticky mass. The outer film consists of a semi-permeable polyurethane film. Comfeel® Plus Transparent is formulated without pectin, known allergens such as latex or colophony and without animal derivatives such as gelatine.

Application
Preparation:
- Clean the wound and the skin surrounding the wound in accordance with the applicable guidelines, e.g. with Ringer's solution, physiological saline solution or sterile water.
- Carefully dry the skin surrounding the wound.
- If a film, cream, ointment or similar product is used, allow the surrounding skin to dry completely before applying the product.
Application:
- Choose a dressing that overlaps the edges of the wound by at least 1 to 2 centimetres.
- Use the turquoise-coloured protective tabs to avoid touching the self-adhesive side and to ensure aseptic application.
- Remove the transparent protective film.
- Place the self-adhesive side towards the wound.
- Remove the turquoise-coloured protective tabs one by one. Carefully run your fingers around the edge of the product to ensure that the product sits evenly and smoothly.
Removal:
- As the dressing absorbs wound exudate, a whitish gel will form and the product will become milky.
- The product should be changed when clinically indicated, when exudate is visibly approaching the edge of the product or after 7 days.
- To remove the dressing, gently lift the corners of the product away from the wound.
- A characteristic odour may develop under the dressing. This is normal and the odour will disappear when the wound is cleaned.
Disposal:
- The product is intended for single use only and should be disposed of in accordance with the applicable guidelines, e.g. together with normal household waste.
- Do not dispose of the product in the toilet.
