A new processing method is used to produce a granular mineral composite with a high colloidal content. The Chitodent® mineral composite for teeth is non-abrasive, alkaline and, when combined with a healthy diet, can help to rebuild the entire bacterial flora from the throat to the gut. The granular materials used, made from polymeric geominerals, possess a very high ion-exchange capacity. When the mineral composite is applied in the oral cavity, ion exchange may lead to hyperpolarisation of the cell membranes in the oral cavity. An increase in the membrane potential within the cells’ physiological regulatory circuit generally results in a stimulating effect. This revitalises the oral mucosa, which in turn leads to a strengthening of the immune system.
