Cellona® synthetic wadding has a wide range of applications. As well as providing protection beneath plaster and cast supports, it is also used, amongst other things, to pad splints and compression bandages. When used in wound care in combination with textile wound dressings or gauze impregnated with ointment, the wadding acts as a cushion.

Versatile in use

Synthetic cotton wool has a wide range of applications. As well as its protective function under plaster and cast supports, it is also used, amongst other things, to pad splints and compression bandages. In wound care, when combined with textile wound dressings or ointment gauze, the wadding acts as padding.

Soft cotton wool for crease-free

application The fine fibre pile is sufficiently dense for circular application, yet can be separated as required with gentle tension, preventing the formation of bulges for comfortable wear. The material is also well suited to tight areas of the body, such as the thumb region, as it can be tapered lengthways with gentle pulling. Application of the padding cotton wool is facilitated by a material-specific adhesive effect, making it easy to smooth out. 

Good padding for comfortable wear

The synthetic wadding impresses with its breathability and temperature-regulating properties. The fibres do not absorb moisture, allowing the rigid splint to set more quickly. The synthetic wadding is available in both standard and sterile versions.
