The rockrose (Cistus incanus) is a bushy, branched shrub with simple, sessile and stalked leaves. The short-lived crown leaves are usually pink, white, yellow or purple and very wrinkled from the start. Rockroses have a very aromatic resin, also known as labdanum. Cistus plants are found in a wide variety of species in the Mediterranean region, as they prefer a very dry climate and grow very well in stony, nutrient-poor soil.
The alcohol-free rockrose liquid is made from dried rockrose, which is mixed with vegetable glycerine and distilled water to create a strong extract. Before bottling, the alcohol-free rockrose tincture is shaken regularly and left to mature for at least three months.
