Coldistop Nasal Oil stimulates blood flow to the nasal mucosa. Vitamin A plays an important role in the regeneration of mucosal cells and in mucus production. Vitamin E supports the action of vitamin A. Thanks to the combination of active ingredients – vitamin A and vitamin E – Coldistop relieves symptoms associated with an irritated, acutely or chronically damaged nasal mucosa. Essential oils provide a pleasant aroma.

Coldistop Nasal Oil is used:

• as an adjunct to the treatment of acute and chronic colds, particularly dry colds and when the nasal mucosa is damaged by a cold;
• as a supplementary and intermittent treatment when you are simultaneously using nasal drops containing decongestants;
• for long-term treatment of a ‘stinky nose’ (a condition in which the nasal mucosa atrophies). In this case, COLDISTOP serves to soften and loosen crusts and dried-up secretions on the nasal mucosa.
• for dry throat inflammation (epipharyngitis sicca, pharyngitis chronica sicca),
• for tamponade treatment of the inner nose and sinuses following surgery, e.g. after septoplasty, maxillary sinus surgery, etc.,
• to protect the nasal mucosa if you are particularly exposed to dust and exhaust fumes.

Directions for use

• Adults and adolescents (aged 12 to 18): Apply 1–2 drops into each nostril 2–3 times a day. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose of 6 drops per nostril!
• Pregnant women, breastfeeding women and women of childbearing age not using contraception: Do not exceed the maximum daily dose of 5 drops per nostril and spread the dose over several applications throughout the day (see also ‘Pregnancy and breastfeeding’)!
• Children aged 6 to 12 years: Apply 1 drop into each nostril twice daily. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose of 2 drops per nostril!
• COLDISTOP is not recommended for use in children under 6 years of age.

Method of use

For nasal use.

• After thoroughly clearing the nose (blowing your nose), tilt your head back, instil COLDISTOP nasal oil into the nostrils using the pipette, and then distribute it throughout the nose by gently squeezing the nostrils several times. Only release the pressure on the rubber bulb after removing the pipette from the nose to prevent contamination of the medicine. After use, rinse the pipette with hot water if possible.
• COLDISTOP can also be applied to the nose using a cotton bud or gently massaged in with a clean finger.
• For nasal packing: The tampons are soaked in COLDISTOP nasal oil before insertion; if necessary, powdered antibiotics may also be added at the same time.

Duration of treatment

• If there is no improvement after one week, please inform your doctor. They will decide on the further course of treatment.

Suitable for use in children and adolescents aged 6 years and over, and adults.

Ingredients

• The active ingredients are: vitamin A palmitate, vitamin E acetate. 1 ml contains: vitamin A palmitate 8.25 mg (= 15,000 IU), vitamin E acetate 20.00 mg. The other ingredients are: peanut oil, isopropyl myristate, Purcellin oil, sweet orange peel oil, terpineol, lemon oil.
• 1 drop (= 0.03 ml) contains 450 IU of vitamin A palmitate.
