The CINGAL® pre-filled syringe is a medical device intended for use in the relief of pain associated with osteoarthritis through a single injection combining corticosteroids and hyaluronic acid.

Cingal® is the first and only combination product authorised with the CE mark that offers the benefits of cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) and a fast-acting steroid. Cingal is a highly effective single-injection treatment that combines Anika’s proprietary HA formulation with a corticosteroid to effectively treat the symptoms associated with osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee and to provide rapid pain relief lasting up to 6 months.

Indications

Administration

• Cingal is a simple injection that can be conveniently administered in a doctor’s surgery. The doctor injects Cingal directly into the knee joint space, where it mixes with the synovial fluid and relieves the pain caused by osteoarthritis of the knee.
• Notes: The injection must only be administered by qualified doctors.

Ingredients

• Composition per pre-filled syringe (4 ml): 88 mg hyaluronic acid, 18 mg triamcinolone hexacetonide.
• Other ingredients: water for injection (at ambient temperature), dibasic sodium phosphate, monobasic sodium phosphate monohydrate, polysorbate 80, sorbitol.
