Burgerstein Coenzyme Q10 100 mg capsules are a dietary supplement containing 100 mg coenzyme Q10 per capsule in the form of ubiquinone, which is obtained by fermentation from yeast in a natural process. Coenzyme Q10 is mainly found in the mitochondria (the power stations of the cells), in the blood and in the cell membranes.

Coenzyme Q10 helps to protect fats throughout the body from the release of electrons (oxidation) and thus from structural damage. It can also regenerate other antioxidants such as vitamin E. These can then be used again as antioxidants.

Coenzyme Q10 also plays a vital role in energy production in the mitochondria ("cell power plants") and thus contributes to the formation of ATP, the main energy source of the cells. The coenzyme Q10 concentration is therefore highest in the cells where the most energy is needed (heart, liver, kidneys, muscles, brain).

Coenzyme Q10 can also lower the levels of various inflammatory markers. It also improves the function of the vascular endothelium, the thin lining layer of blood vessels. This plays a central role in the regulation of vascular pressure or haemostasis.
