Product information "Burgerstein Brain PS+ Capsules"
Burgerstein Brain PS+ capsules are a dietary supplement containing pantothenic acid and natural phosphatidylserine derived from soya lecithin, which is found in high concentrations in brain cells. Brain PS+ also contains Bacopa monnieri extract (bacosides).
- Phosphatidylserine helps regulate the release of neurotransmitters and is involved in synaptic activity; it supports brain function and helps prevent a decline in cognitive function with age.
- Pantothenic acid contributes to normal mental performance and a normal, well-functioning energy metabolism.
- Brain PS+ also contains Bacopa monnieri extract (bacosides), which can protect the nerves by reducing oxidative stress. Furthermore, bacosides can positively influence signal transmission between nerve cells, thereby improving cognitive functions. We use an extract with a 55 per cent bacoside content!
School, university and work demand peak performance, constant attention and a sharp mind from our brains. For example, when preparing for exams, focused and efficient learning is essential. Support your mental performance now.
Vegans rely on additional, external sources of phosphatidylserine, as this micronutrient is mainly found in fish and meat.
Brain PS+ supports:
- Older people Regular intake of phosphatidylserine can have a positive effect on maintaining mental performance and memory
- School pupils and students Particularly when preparing for exams, where focused and efficient learning is required
- People facing high demands at work and in daily life The increased demands of work and daily life, as well as the constant flood of information, require sustained attention and a sharp mind
Why is phosphatidylserine important in the body?
Did you know that phosphatidylserine (PS) is the most important acidic aminophospholipid in the brain and an essential component of all the body’s cell membranes?
- Together with other membrane phospholipids, PS plays a central role in communication between cells and in the transmission of biochemical signals into the cell interior.
- Nerve cells, in particular, rely on phosphatidylserine. Phosphatidylserine is mainly found in fish and meat. Dairy products and plant-based foods tend to be rather low in this substance. However, a deficiency or low intake is thought to impair mental performance: studies have linked a reduction in the amount of phosphatidylserine in cell membranes to forgetfulness and concentration difficulties.
- In another study involving older adults, significant improvements were observed in short-term memory, concentration and attention. In addition, there were improvements in depressive symptoms, the ability to cope with daily life and apathetic behaviour [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]. Apathy is usually characterised, amongst other things, by indifference, a lack of responsiveness and insensitivity to external stimuli.
Bacopa monnieri extract
Brahmi, also known as Bacopa monnieri, has been used for centuries in traditional Indian medicine (Ayurveda) and is regarded as one of the finest herbal remedies. The main areas of application for the extract are:
- improving cognitive function and memory
- reducing stress
- improving general mood and vitality
Various studies have demonstrated improvements in memory lapses and in the processing of visual stimuli, as well as in comprehension, learning ability and recall. However, most scientific studies use a dosage of 300 mg. In any case, care must be taken to ensure that the average duration of use is 8–12 weeks.7,8
