Burgerstein BIOTICS-G Sachets is a food supplement with lactic acid bacteria. Probiotics with 14 different lactic acid-producing, live bacterial cultures and a yeast strain. For the intestinal flora.

When is a multispecies probiotic important for me?

  • The intestinal mucosa: So-called "tight junctions" are narrow bands that connect the individual intestinal cells with each other. Probiotics help to maintain this natural intestinal barrier and thus prevent pathogens from entering the body. Intact "tight junctions" also prevent undigested protein molecules from the intestine from entering the body and triggering allergies.
  • the immune system: Probiotics also have an immunomodulating effect, i.e. probiotics can protect against infections (e.g. colds), influence the intensity of the immune response (e.g. in the case of allergies, hay fever) and suppress inflammatory reactions (e.g. in the case of inflammatory bowel diseases).

What characterises a modern gastrointestinal probiotic?

  • Probiotics with a variety of bacterial strains (multispecies probiotics) can help to maintain or restore the diversity of the intestinal flora. This improves the barrier function of the intestinal mucosa and thus increases resistance (resilience) to pathogenic germs, especially in stressful and stress-intensive situations.
  • The probiotic should contain the broadest possible diversity of health-promoting bacterial strains with > 2.5 billion CFU (colony-forming units). Other ingredients, such as the vitamin biotin, are also a great advantage: biotin contributes to the maintenance of normal intestinal mucosa.
  • It should be ensured that the bacteria reach the intestinal tract in sufficient viable quantities. This means that they must survive the passage through the stomach largely undamaged. This can be achieved using a special protective technology, for example. Only in this way can the good bacteria colonise optimally and develop their health-promoting effect.

Intestinal flora is important for intestinal health

Over 100 trillion bacteria colonise our intestines and form the intestinal flora. This involves more than 1,000 different bacterial strains. The composition varies greatly from person to person. For all people, however, a large variety of bacterial strains is crucial for good health. The intestinal flora is important for intestinal health, as the bacteria support the intestines with the following functions:

  • Digestion: the bacteria contained in the gut aid digestion by breaking down food components that are indigestible to us and providing nutrients (e.g. short-chain fatty acids) for the intestinal mucosa.
  • Protection against intruders: Healthy intestinal flora prevents pathogens from getting out of hand, overcoming the barrier function of the intestinal mucosa and then spreading throughout the body.
  • Supporting the immune system: We now know that the gut is the headquarters of the immune system. 70 to 80 % of all immune cells that produce antibodies are located in the intestinal mucosa. This protection is very important because the intestinal mucosa comes into contact with pathogens and foreign bodies very frequently as a result of the food we eat every day. The intestinal bacteria train our immune system.

How to use
Preferably 30 minutes before breakfast, add the contents of one sachet to approx. 100 ml lukewarm water, stir and leave to stand for approx. 1 minute before drinking.
