Horseradish (Armoracia rusticana) belongs to the cruciferous family (Brassicaceae). The root of the horseradish plant is traditionally used as a spice, a vegetable and in herbal medicine, and grows wild on the edges of damp meadows. Horseradish has been known since ancient times and originates from Eastern and Southern Europe. There are no recognised distinct varieties of horseradish; however, over the centuries of commercial cultivation, local varieties with varying flavours have developed. In horseradish-growing regions, dishes featuring the root are part of everyday life. 

When unprocessed, horseradish is odourless. When the root is cut or grated, a pungent odour is released, caused by allyl thiocyanate. Allyl thiocyanate is formed enzymatically from the mustard oil glycoside sinigrin when the cells are damaged. Mustard oil glycosides, also known as glucosinolates, act as defence substances to protect the plant against being eaten by animals. Horseradish 400 mg Organic Capsules contain 400 mg of horseradish extract in a hard gelatine capsule. Raw material description: The horseradish extract used is derived from the plant *Armoracia rusticana* and meets the highest standards. It is a natural extract standardised to essential oil content.

Directions for use

• Adults: Take 1 capsule three times daily with plenty of liquid.
• Notes: If you have a known allergy to mustard oils, you should not take Bios Kren 400 mg capsules .

• Composition per daily dose (3 capsules): 1200 mg horseradish extract.
