Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin and is also known as retinol. It plays an important role in vision, as it is involved in the formation of visual purple, which enables vision in low light. If your dietary intake of vitamin A is too low (e.g. for vegetarians), or if your eyes are under strain – for example, due to extensive screen work or frequent night-time driving – taking Bios Vitamin A 800 µg capsules as a supplement may be beneficial. Active vitamin A is found in animal-based foods such as liver, milk and eggs, and is known as retinol. This ‘preformed’ vitamin A has very high bioavailability and can be utilised directly by the body. The capsules contain vitamin A as retinyl acetate, which is a storage form of retinol and can be converted very effectively by the body.

Directions for use

• Adults: Take 1 capsule once daily with liquid.
• Notes: Due to the risk of foetal malformations, pregnant women and women of childbearing age not using reliable contraception must not exceed a daily dose of 1500 µg retinol (equivalent to 5000 IU). This also applies during the breastfeeding period.
