L-carnitine is a vitamin-like substance produced naturally in the body, which plays a major role in the production of energy from fat cells. As the body has to draw on fat reserves to release energy during strenuous exercise - especially intensive training - there may be an increased need for L-carnitine. The name is derived from the Latin word "carnis" for meat. As the name suggests, L-carnitine is particularly absorbed when eating meat - especially lamb and pork - but also fish.
Vegetables, fruit and dairy products also contain L-carnitine, but to a much lesser extent, which is why a dietary supplement can be useful. L-Carnitine 250 mg Bios capsules contain 250 mg Carnipure®, a particularly high-quality L-carnitine produced by the Swiss company Lonza.

Adults: Take 2 x 1 capsule daily with liquid.

- Ingredients: L-carnitine tartrate; bulking agent: mannitol (may have a laxative effect if consumed in excess!), capsule shell: gelatine; colours in the capsule shell: titanium dioxide, iron oxide, Ponceau 4 R, quinoline yellow, patent blue V (may impair activity and attention in children!).
- Composition per daily dose (2 capsules): 500 mg L-carnitine.
