D-mannose is a natural monosugar that is produced by the human organism to a small extent, but is hardly utilised and therefore passes undigested into the bladder. Intestinal bacteria are often the cause of an imbalance in the bladder mucosal environment. These bacteria bind more strongly to D-mannose than to the inner wall of the bladder. Flushing out these germs is made easier with the help of D-mannose.

Cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon), a robust, hardy plant with numerous bioactive components, including phenolic acids, arbutin, anthocyanins, flavones, flavonoids and organic acids, perfectly complements this function. In particular, its high content of proanthocyanidins (PACs) specifically prevents the adhesion of unwanted bacteria to the walls of the bladder.

PACs interact with so-called fimbriae - the adherent appendages of bacteria - and thus prevent them from binding to the mucous membrane of the inner bladder wall. These are then simply flushed out with the urine. In addition, the arbutin contained in cranberries, which is converted to hydroquinone in the body, slows down the growth of these germs. Last but not least, cranberry acidifies the urine. This acidic environment makes the growth of bacteria even more difficult. This purely herbal combination preparation thus supports the natural cleansing of the bladder and contributes to the maintenance of a stable urinary tract.
