Bios Calcium 133 mg capsules provide a high dose of calcium for healthy bones and teeth. Ideal for sportspeople, women going through the menopause and anyone who wishes to support their bone health.
Calcium is an important mineral
in the human body. It is of great importance
for bone density (strength) and for healthy
teeth. Calcium also plays an essential role
in human metabolism. It is involved in the transmission of signals
between muscles and nerve cells, intracellular
signalling, as well as in the stabilisation of
cell membranes and blood clotting. The
element is found primarily in dairy products, spinach leaves
and broccoli. In cases of lactose intolerance or a deliberate
avoidance of dairy products, for athletes – particularly
those involved in endurance sports (calcium loss due to heavy
sweating) – during the menopause and in cases of allergies,
calcium supplementation has proven beneficial.
