Bios Alpha Lipoic Acid Plus Capsules are a dietary supplement with acetyl-L-carnitine, alpha lipoic acid and vitamins B1, B6, B12, C and E.

Alpha-lipoic acid is a sulphur-containing fatty acid produced naturally in the body. In its natural (R) form, it plays an important role as a coenzyme in the mitochondria and is therefore significantly involved in the energy metabolism of cells. As a powerful antioxidant, alpha-lipoic acid can protect tissue from damage caused by free radicals and even recycle antioxidants such as vitamin C, vitamin E, coenzyme Q-10 or glutathione after they have been used up. The fatty acid can also chelate metals such as mercury, lead, aluminium or cadmium and is therefore also used to remove heavy metals from the body. As alpha-lipoic acid is both water- and fat-soluble, it can cross the blood-brain barrier and is therefore also able to rid the brain of harmful metals. As a rule, the human body produces sufficient quantities of alpha-lipoic acid for its daily needs. However, it is now assumed that alpha-lipoic acid is produced insufficiently under certain physiological conditions. Furthermore, additional intake of alpha-lipoic acid as a dietary supplement provides the body with additional resources that can be utilised for antioxidant processes. Alpha-lipoic acid also supports the breakdown of body fat and supports the liver in its function. In addition to alpha-lipoic acid, Alpha Lipoic Acid Plus Bios Capsules also contain acetyl carnitine and vitamins E, C, B1, B6 and B12.

Directions
Adults: Take 3 x 1 capsule daily with liquid.

Ingredients
  • Ingredients: Acetyl-carnitine HCl, alpha-lipoic acid, ascorbic acid; cellulose**; alpha-tocopherol acetate, pyridoxine HCl, thiamine HCl, methylcobalamin (methylcobalamin, mannitol) **Capsule shell.
  • Composition per daily dose (3 capsules): 750 mg acetyl-L-carnitine HCl, 300 mg alpha-lipoic acid, 300 mg vitamin C (374 % NRV*), 15 mg vitamin E (124.5 % NRV*), 6 mg vitamin B6 (428 % NRV*), 4.2 mg vitamin B1 (381 % NRV*), 3 µg vitamin B12 (120 % NRV*) *NRV = per cent of the recommended daily intake.
