Bios Activated Charcoal Pur capsules are a food supplement containing 300 mg of activated charcoal per capsule. Activated charcoal is a finely porous form of carbon with a large internal surface area, which, like a sponge, can absorb substances non-specifically.
Due to its porous surface structure, activated charcoal has a high binding capacity, enabling it to be used as an adsorbent to bind toxins, bacteria and bacterial toxins and remove them via the gastrointestinal tract. These toxic substances are therefore not absorbed, but are excreted via the stools together with the activated charcoal. Activated charcoal is not only capable of binding solid substances, but can also absorb gaseous substances, such as intestinal gases and odour-causing molecules, as well as excess water, which would otherwise lead to loose stools.
