Balneum Hermal F bath additive is a moisturising medicinal oil bath for the symptomatic treatment of skin diseases (dermatoses) with very dry and slightly itchy skin.

It is used for the supportive treatment of skin diseases with very dry and slightly itchy skin.

This medicine is used in adults, adolescents and children from 2 years of age. If you do not feel better or even worse after 4 weeks, consult your doctor.

How does Balneum Hermal F bath additive work?

• Balneum Hermal F bath additive causes an oil film to form on the skin in a pleasant way. This serves as a temporary protective layer until the skin's natural moisturising layer is restored and is still detectable 2 days after the bath. The release of natural moisturising factors from the uppermost skin layer during bathing is reduced. The same applies to the increased evaporation of water in many skin diseases, which contributes to the development of dry skin. This has a favourable effect on skin elasticity.
• The emulsifiers (substances that guarantee a fine distribution of the active ingredient) and the high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids also have an antipruritic, anti-dandruff and, to a certain extent, germ-inhibiting effect.

When do you use Balneum Hermal F bath additive?

Balneum Hermal F Bath Additive is used for the supportive treatment of skin conditions with very dry and slightly itchy skin, such as

• atopic eczema (neurodermatitis)
• psoriasis
• Fish scale disease (ichthyosis)
• "Itching of old age" (pruritus senilis)
• Eczema, such as nappy rash, wasch eczema, chronic eczema.

When should you not use Balneum Hermal F Bath Additive?

The product must not be used in the case of

• Hypersensitivity to any component of the product,
• fresh forms of pustular psoriasis (psoriasis with "pus blisters" all over the body, fever and impaired general condition).

In principle, full baths - including those with Balneum Hermal F bath additive - should only be used after consulting a doctor in the case of: major skin injuries and unclear acute skin diseases, severe febrile and infectious diseases, cardiac insufficiency (weak heart performance) and high blood pressure.

Directions for use

• Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over: for a full bath (approx. 150 litres) use two measuring cups (30 ml) for a partial bath (5 litres) use approx. 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml).
• Children from 2 to 11 years: use 1/3 measuring cup (5 ml) for a children's bath (approx. 25 litres).
• Use for children: Use in children under 2 years of age is not recommended due to a lack of data.
• The inner part of the screw cap can be used as a measuring cup to measure the required quantities.
• Method of application: For use on the skin. Balneum Hermal F bath additive is added to the bath water and mixed in well until it is evenly distributed. The bath water temperature should not significantly exceed 36 °C, as the moisturising effect slowly diminishes at higher temperatures. To treat itching, the temperature should be 32 °C or as low as is comfortable. The duration of the bath should be determined individually, but should not exceed 15 - 20 minutes. For children, a duration of only a few minutes is usually sufficient. The frequency of use depends on the type and extent of the symptoms. In general, baths every two to three days are recommended. Daily bathing is also possible. Balneum Hermal F bath additive can also be used for showering. The product is applied undiluted to the moistened skin and then showered off. After bathing or showering, only dab the skin lightly with a towel. Drying and rubbing the skin vigorously reduces the therapeutic effect.

Ingredients

• The active ingredients are: refined peanut oil and low-viscosity paraffin 100 g contain: 46.45 g refined peanut oil and 47.00 g low-viscosity paraffin.
• The other ingredients are Butylated hydroxytoluene (E 321), palmitoyl ascorbic acid, macrogollauryl ether 400, isopropyl palmitate, PEG/PPG-120/10 trimethylolpropane trioleate and laureth-2, citric acid monohydrate, propylene glycol, fragrance (contains D-limonene, linalool).
