Medicinal product for the prevention and treatment of biotin deficiency!

Biogelat® Biotin 5mg is used to prevent and treat biotin deficiency (less than 0.2 mg biotin per day is sufficient for prevention) and to treat biotin deficiency in very rare biotin-dependent, multiple carboxylase deficiency (a hereditary disease in which an enzyme for the breakdown of biotin from food is missing).

Biotin, also known as vitamin B7 or vitamin H, is a water-soluble vitamin and belongs to the B group of vitamins. Biotin is formed in the intestinal flora and can also be absorbed through food. It is found in the human body in various organs and tissues. Biotin plays an important role in metabolic processes (carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism) and is required for the development of skin, hair and nails.

How to use

Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the usual dose is: take 1/2-1 tablet daily with sufficient liquid.
Less than 0.2 mg per day is sufficient for prophylaxis.
For the treatment of multiple carboxylase deficiency: 1 to 2 tablets daily.
The duration of use depends on the course of the underlying disease.

Note: To divide the tablets, place them on a firm surface with the notch facing upwards and press firmly with your thumb.

Use in children and adolescents : No data are available on children and adolescents.
