Azela-Vision® MD sine contains azelastine, a drug from the group of so-called antihistamines. The mode of action of antihistamines is to protect against the effects of substances such as histamine, which the body produces during an allergic reaction. Azelastine has also been shown to be effective in relieving eye inflammation.
Azela-Vision® MD sine is used in adults and children aged 4 years and over for the treatment and prevention of eye symptoms caused by hay fever (seasonal allergic conjunctivitis).
Azela-Vision® MD sine is used in adults and children aged 12 years and over for the treatment and prevention of eye complaints due to allergies to e.g. house dust mites or dog and cat dander (year-round allergic conjunctivitis).
If you do not feel better or even worse after 48 hours, consult your doctor.

How to use
You must not use Azela-Vision® sine for longer than 6 weeks.
Azela-Vision® sine may only be applied to the eye. If the symptoms are severe, you can increase the dose to one drop in each eye up to four times a day. Make sure that the tip of the single-dose container does not touch the eye or the area around the eye. This can lead to contamination with bacteria and subsequently to an eye infection, which can lead to serious eye damage and even loss of vision. To avoid possible contamination of the single-dose container, make sure that the tip of the container does not come into contact with any surface.
The solution from a single-dose container of Azela-Vision® sine must be used immediately after opening for administration to the affected eye(s). As sterility is not guaranteed for a prolonged period after opening a single-dose container, a new container must be opened before each use and discarded immediately after administration.
Method of administration:
- Wash your hands before using the drops.
- Remove the cap from the single-dose container.
- Ensure that the tip of the single-dose container does not come into contact with anything. Hold the single-dose container between your thumb and forefinger in one hand. Tilt your head back and pull the lower eyelid downwards with the index finger of the other hand.
- Bring the dropper tip close to the eye (but without touching the eye or eyelid) and gently squeeze the single-dose container to instil a drop into the eye.
- Close the eye and press lightly on the inner corner of the eye with your index finger for one minute.
- Discard the single-dose container after instillation, even if it still contains solution.
- Keep the remaining single-dose containers in the sachet; the remaining single-dose containers must be used within 28 days of opening the sachet.
