Azela-Vision® MD sine eye drops 0.5 mg/ml, 6 ML

Azela-Vision® MD sine contains azelastine, a drug from the group of so-called antihistamines. The mode of action of antihistamines is to protect against the effects of substances such as histamine, which the body produces during an allergic reaction. Azelastine has also been shown to be effective in relieving eye inflammation.

Azela-Vision® MD sine is used in adults and children aged 4 years and over for the treatment and prevention of eye symptoms caused by hay fever (seasonal allergic conjunctivitis).

Azela-Vision® MD sine is used in adults and children aged 12 years and over for the treatment and prevention of eye complaints due to allergies to e.g. house dust mites or dog and cat dander (year-round allergic conjunctivitis).

If you do not feel better or even worse after 48 hours, consult your doctor.

How to use

Eye complaints caused by hay fever (seasonal allergic conjunctivitis): The recommended dose for adults and children aged 4 years and over is one drop in each eye in the morning and evening. If contact with pollen is expected, Azela-Vision® MD sine can be used preventively before leaving the house.

Eye complaints caused by allergies, e.g. to house dust or dog and cat dander (year-round allergic conjunctivitis): The recommended dose for adults and children aged 12 and over is one drop in each eye in the morning and evening. If symptoms are severe, you can increase the dose to one drop in each eye up to four times a day.

Method of application:

1. Wash your hands before applying the drops.
2. Remove the protective cap from the bottle (Fig. 1). Make sure that the tip of the bottle does not come into contact with anything.
3. Before using the bottle for the first time, please apply up to 10 pressure movements until the first drop is produced. Hold the bottle upside down as shown in Fig. 2. Please avoid any contact of the dropper tip with your fingers and eyes.
4. Hold the bottle as shown in Fig. 3. Ensure that the thumb rests on the wide, non-slip, round finger rest.
5. Bring your head into a neck position and pull down the lower eyelid with your free hand. Hold the bottle with the dropper pointing downwards. Hold the dropper tip close to the eye, but do not touch the eye or eyelid. Gently press on the round finger pad to drop a drop into your eye.
6. Close the eye and press the inner corner of the eye with your index finger for 1 minute.
7. Close the bottle after use
8. After opening the bottle for the first time, you can use the medicine for 12 weeks. After this time, the bottle must be disposed of, even if there is any remaining solution.

Notes:

• You must not use Azela-Vision® MD sine for longer than 6 weeks.
• Azela-Vision® MD sine may only be used on the eye.

Ingredients

The active ingredient is azelastine hydrochloride (0.5 mg/ml). 1 drop contains 0.015 mg azelastine hydrochloride. The other ingredients are Sorbitol solution, hypromellose, sodium edetate, sodium hydroxide solution (for pH adjustment) and water for injection.
