Avitale Melatonin 1.9 mg prolonged-release tablets are a food supplement containing 1.9 mg of melatonin. Prolonged-release tablets with delayed release of the active ingredient. Melatonin helps to reduce the time taken to fall asleep*.

Avitale MELATONIN DEPOT 1.9 MG contains 1.9 mg of melatonin per tablet. The preparation releases the active ingredient melatonin gradually throughout the night. This helps the body to fall asleep more quickly.

Adequate and restful sleep is extremely important for physical and mental recovery. However, difficulties in falling asleep or staying asleep can often disrupt one’s usual sleep pattern. 

Melatonin is a neurohormone which the body produces in greater quantities as darkness falls and releases into the bloodstream in higher amounts. It thus promotes falling asleep. In daylight, melatonin secretion subsides again and the person wakes up. Melatonin is therefore often referred to as the ‘sleep hormone’, as its activity controls a healthy sleep rhythm and, so to speak, regulates the ‘internal clock’.

*Health claims regarding melatonin: 

• Melatonin helps to reduce the time taken to fall asleep: To experience the beneficial effect, take 1 mg of melatonin shortly before going to bed. 
• Melatonin helps to alleviate the subjective symptoms of jet lag: To experience the beneficial effects, take at least 0.5 mg of melatonin shortly before going to bed on the first day of travel and on the first few days after arrival at your destination.

Directions for use

• Take 1 tablet once daily, shortly before going to bed, with a little water. The active ingredients in the sustained-release tablets are released into the body gradually over a longer period.
• Notes: Pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as women planning to conceive, are advised to consult their doctor. The same applies to long-term use and to people taking other medicines. This product is not suitable for people with impaired liver and/or kidney function, or for those suffering from an autoimmune disorder or epilepsy. People at increased risk of type 2 diabetes should only take this product after consulting a doctor. Please take only before going to bed; do not take before operating machinery or driving. Do not take with alcohol. Suitable only for people aged 18 and over.
