Aptamil Anti-Reflux Complete Formula Powder is a food for special medical purposes (balanced diet), intended for dietary management in cases of frequent spitting up and regurgitation.

It is not a cause for concern if babies burp up a little food in the first few weeks after a feed. If the spitting up or ‘liquid burping’ (regurgitation) is more severe or lasts longer, please consult your paediatrician. If they recommend a special formula for your bottle-fed baby, you can use Aptamil AR Complete Formula from birth as your baby’s sole source of nutrition, or from the age of 6 months as part of a mixed diet.

Special features

Aptamil AR Complete Formula combines our special blend of nutrients with a unique manufacturing process. The natural thickening agent, locust bean gum, makes the formula particularly creamy. This helps the formula stay in the stomach longer, thereby reducing reflux into the oesophagus.

Directions for use

When preparing the formula, ensure you use the correct dosage as shown in the table. The specified amounts to be fed and the number of feeds per day are only recommended guidelines and may vary from child to child. Use only the measuring spoon provided. One level measuring spoon holds 4.6g.

Preparation:

When preparing Aptamil Anti-Reflux Complete Formula, follow the instructions for use exactly. Incorrect preparation and storage may lead to health problems caused by the growth of unwanted bacteria. Prepare the formula fresh before each feed and feed it immediately. Do not reuse any leftover formula. Clean the bottle, teat and ring thoroughly. Do not heat the formula in the microwave (risk of overheating).

1. Allow fresh, boiled drinking water to cool to approx. 40°C and pour 2/3 of the required amount of water into the bottle.
2. To measure out the powder accurately, level off the enclosed measuring spoon using the scraper. Use only the enclosed measuring spoon.
3. Close the bottle and shake vigorously in an upright position for about 10 seconds, then add the remaining water and shake vigorously again.
4. Once prepared, leave the Aptamil AR complete formula to stand for 5 minutes.
5. Then shake briefly once more, attach the teat and check that the temperature is suitable for feeding (approx. 37°C).

• Regarding nutrition: Breastfeeding is the best form of nutrition for your baby. Please speak to your paediatrician or hospital if you wish to use Aptamil Anti-Reflux Complete Formula.
• Usage: Please use only under medical supervision. Aptamil Anti-Reflux Complete Formula is suitable from birth for the exclusive feeding of infants. Please do not use Aptamil Anti-Reflux Complete Formula together with the Aptamil Anti-Reflux Thickener. Aptamil Anti-Reflux Complete Formula is not suitable for babies at risk of allergies. Spitting up and regurgitation should decrease with the use of Aptamil Anti-Reflux Complete Formula. If this is not the case, please contact your paediatrician again.
• Regarding dental health: All infant formulas contain carbohydrates. Frequent contact with carbohydrate-containing foods can cause tooth decay. Do not leave your child with a bottle to suck on continuously.
