Advantage® for dogs up to 4 kg, 40 mg solution for application to the skin, is a veterinary medicinal product for the prevention and treatment of flea infestations and for the treatment of lice infestations (Trichodectes canis) in dogs.

Indications

• For the prevention and treatment of flea infestations and for the treatment of chigger infestations (Trichodectes canis) in dogs.
• Within 24 hours of applying Advantage, the fleas on the dog are killed.
• This single treatment provides protection against fleas for 4 weeks. Following diagnosis by a vet, the veterinary medicinal product may be used as part of the treatment strategy for flea bite-induced allergic dermatitis (flea allergy dermatitis, FAD).

Administration

Dosage: Dogs up to 4 kg body weight (BW): 1 x 0.4 ml – at least 10 imidacloprid (mg/kg BW).

Administration in dogs:

1. Remove the pipette from the pack. Hold the pipette upright, unscrew the cap and pull it off.
2. Use the cap, turned upside down, to break the seal.
3. To ensure easy application, your dog should be standing.
4. Part your dog’s fur between the shoulder blades until you can see the skin.
5. Now squeeze the pipette several times to empty the entire contents onto the skin. Take care to avoid contact with your dog’s eyes or mouth.
6. After use, wrap the pipette in some paper, dispose of it in the household waste and wash your hands.

Ingredients

• One pipette contains: Advantage 40 mg spot-on solution for dogs (< 4 kg): 0.4 ml – imidacloprid 40 mg, E321 0.4 mg.
• Active ingredient(s): 10 % (100 mg/ml) imidacloprid.
• Other ingredients: 0.1% (1 mg/ml) butylhydroxytoluene (E321), benzyl alcohol.
