- The Accu-Chek Instant test strips, which are to be used with the Accu-Chek Instant, are designed for quantitative blood glucose testing with fresh capillary whole blood from the finger, palm, forearm and upper arm and serve as an aid for monitoring blood glucose levels.
- The Accu-Chek Instant test strips, which are to be used with the Accu-Chek Instant, are intended as an in-vitro diagnostic device for self-administration by people with diabetes.
- The normal glucose value for a fasting adult without diabetes is less than 100 mg/ dL (5.6 mmol/ L). One criterion used to diagnose diabetes in adults is a fasting glucose value of 126 mg/ dL (7.0 mmol/ L) or higher, confirmed by two measurements.
- Adults who have a fasting glucose value of 100 to 125 mg/ dL (5.6 to 6.9 mmol/ L) have impaired fasting glucose (precursor of diabetes).
