The FreeStyle Precision Neo from Abbott offers simple and accurate measurement of blood glucose and ketones. With small blood samples and rapid results, it helps you manage your diabetes effectively.

The FreeStyle Precision Neo blood glucose and ketone monitor is an in vitro diagnostic medical device for the automatic quantitative measurement of blood glucose and β-ketones (β-hydroxybutyrate) in the blood. The system consists of the metre and the test strips and is suitable for self-testing, including self-testing carried out by carers, as well as for professional use as an aid in the monitoring of diabetes mellitus and ketosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). Healthcare professionals can use this system to check patients’ blood glucose and ketone levels. Samples for blood glucose measurement must be capillary (finger-prick) whole blood samples, and samples for ketone measurement must be capillary (finger-prick) or venous whole blood samples. The meter must only be used in conjunction with FreeStyle Precision blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Precision blood β-ketone test strips. The system should not be used to diagnose diabetes mellitus or diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). The system is intended for external use only.

How the FreeStyle Precision Neo blood glucose monitoring system works 

When you insert a test strip into the meter, the sample drop symbol appears in the meter’s display window. When a blood sample or a control solution sample is applied to the test strip, the blood glucose or ketone reacts with the chemicals on the test strip. This reaction generates a small electrical current, which is measured. The result is displayed in the meter’s display window.
