The Freestyle Libre 2 reader enables continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) through the Freestyle Libre sensor, which is worn on the upper arm. The readers record glucose levels wirelessly - without the need for routine finger pricking.
- Sensor placement: The sensor is placed on the back of the upper arm. The skin should be cleaned and dried beforehand and inserted using the applicator provided.
- Device use: Activate and read the sensor by simply scanning it with the reader.
- Wearing time: The Freestyle Libre 2 Plus sensor can beworn for up to 15 days.
- Data monitoring: Glucose history and trends can be viewed directly on the device or via the app. Data can be exported for sharing with healthcare professionals.
- Calibration: Both systems are factory calibrated and do not require manual calibration by the user.
