ATEIA® SPF 50+ SUNPROTECT PLUS REPAIR Lotion protects light-sensitive or sun allergy-prone skin from sun-induced skin damage with a dermatologically tested formula. Plant-based active ingredient: nopal cactus extract.

Sun and UV light

• The sun has many good sides. However, it can also be harmful to the skin. UV rays from sunlight sometimes penetrate deep into our skin and can damage the genetic information (DNA) in the cell nucleus of skin cells.
• Although human skin has a natural repair mechanism, the body's own repair system cannot repair all UV damage as we age or when exposed to strong sunlight. This can lead to chronic photodamage, even in deeper skin regions, or become visible in the form of premature skin ageing (wrinkling).

DNA repair enzymes

DNA repair enzymes are DNA-binding proteins that cause the body's own repair of the skin cell in the cell nucleus. This active principle was copied from nature by an international team of dermatologists as part of a research project to develop an innovative sunscreen. Microbes that were exposed to the highest levels of UV radiation thousands of years ago and are equipped with an efficient repair mechanism served as a "model".

Why Nopasome®?

• All ATEIA® sun protection and skin care products contain a combination of 2 differently effective DNA repair enzymes in a liposomal formulation (Photosome, Ultrasome) and a plant-based nopal cactus extract (Nopasome®).
• This unique complex of active ingredients* can support the body's own repair mechanisms of the skin cells during sunbathing and thus prevent skin damage caused by UV light or premature skin ageing.
• Photosomes activate the skin's repair mechanism in daylight and Ultrasomes at night (24-hour action). The photosomes and ultrasomes are bound in a liposomal formulation and can therefore penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin.
• The Nopal cactus can soothe and prevent skin irritation thanks to its high polysaccharide content. Nopasome® optimises the preventive light protection treatment. In addition, Nopasome® promotes a natural, enhanced tanning of the skin. *(Australian patent no.: 2003204239)

How to use

Apply ATEIA® Sunscreen generously to cleansed skin on face and body half an hour before sun exposure. Repeat regularly during the day, especially in case of heavy sweating or after swimming and drying off. Restrictions on use Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Advice:

• Do not stay in the sun too long despite using a sunscreen product. Even with UV light protection, avoid direct sunlight at midday.
• Using too little sunscreen significantly reduces sun protection. Avoid excessive sunbathing.
• Do not expose infants and small children to direct sunlight.
