- The pure oil from the pulp of the sea buckthorn berries (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) has a bright orange-red colour and a characteristic fruity-tart sea buckthorn flavour. The sea buckthorn berry contains up to 12 mg/100 g of beta-carotene, while the oil contains 70 mg and the carrot approx. 8 mg/100 g. It contains 30% palmitoleic acid as an unsaturated fatty acid, which occurs naturally in the skin and mucous membranes. Due to the good adhesive properties of the oil, it adheres to the mucous membranes in the throat, oesophagus and gastrointestinal tract. The biologically active substances in sea buckthorn oil have a synergistic effect and support the body's functions.
- Application: Sea buckthorn pulp oil is valued for its vitamin content. Due to its exceptionally high content of carotenoids, sea buckthorn pulp oil is a strongly colouring active ingredient oil. It is used in the production of confectionery, flavourings and for flavouring sauces, yoghurt and smoothies.
