APOfit Red Lapacho is used to prepare a tea infusion. The caffeine-free, mysterious tea of the Incas.

Origin and production

The giant lapacho trees grow mainly in the South American tropics. Lapacho tea is made from the inner bark of the lapacho tree. In order to keep the purple-coloured, flowering tree intact, it is peeled in a similar way to cork trees and the bark grows back.

Ingredients and effects

Lapacho tea contains high levels of vitamins and minerals such as potassium and calcium. Rare valuable trace elements such as boron, strontium and iodine can also be found in the tea. The ingredients lapachon and lapachol are said to have antibacterial and antifungal effects. Lapacho tea has been consumed as a medicinal tea in South America for centuries. It contains no caffeine and is particularly mild and easily digestible. It is particularly recommended as a basic drink when fasting and detoxifying.

How to use

1 slightly heaped teaspoon per cup or 2 heaped tablespoons per litre. Bring the tea to the boil with the water for 5 minutes and then leave to infuse for another 15-20 minutes. Lapacho tea can also be drunk cold.
