- AMAZONAS ORGANIC Acerola Powder is a 100% natural vitamin C fruit powder with no synthetic additives ; it is made from whole cherries, which contain not only vitamin C but also numerous minerals and phytochemicals. These natural ‘carriers’ ensure that the vitamin C is effectively absorbed by the body.
- The powder is produced using a spray-drying process, with the addition of the carrier substance organic maltodextrin derived from cassava, which is necessary to ensure the powder’s shelf life.
- Organic acerola powder is mainly produced in Brazil from unripe acerola cherries, as these have a higher vitamin C content: approximately 10–15 kg of cherries yield 1 kg of powder, with a natural vitamin C content of 17 per cent. It is yellowish-brown in colour.
- As the human body cannot produce vitamin C itself, we must ensure an adequate supply of this vitamin.
- External factors such as stress, UV radiation, smoking, physical and mental strain, medication, as well as preservatives, pesticides, etc., cause the body’s need for vitamin C (an antioxidant) to rise rapidly .
