3M™ Tegaderm™ Transparent Film Dressing with Application Frame is a sterile, water vapour permeable transparent film dressing.

3M™ Tegaderm™ Transparent Film Dressing can be used to cover and protect catheter insertion sites and wounds, to ensure an ideal moist environment for wound healing and to fix medical devices to the skin.

Properties

• Waterproof, sterile protection: Protects the catheter insertion site or wound from external contaminants such as bacteria, viruses, blood and body fluids - in vitro tests prove that the transparent film provides protection against viruses with a diameter of 27 nm or more as long as the film dressing is intact and does not leak
• The breathable film allows oxygen to enter and water vapour to escape
• Adhesive-free tabs allow for precise and easy application, reducing the risk of sticking to gloves or the material itself
• The transparent dressing enables continuous visual monitoring of the catheter insertion site
• Bandage stretches with the skin for increased patient comfort
• Can be worn for up to seven days
• Radiolucent. Tegaderm products can be safely left on the patient's skin during radiotherapy. The dressing can be used with or without 3M™ Cavilon™ Non Irritant Skin Protective Film (CNSBF) and does not act as a bolus material
• Can be used to maintain an ideal moist wound environment to support autolytic debridement
• Helps to prevent friction-induced skin damage

• Catheter insertion sites and wounds
• Primary closed clean surgical incisions
• Split skin removal sites
• First and second degree burns
• Minor abrasions and superficial decubital ulcers
• To support autolytic debridement by providing an ideal moist wound healing environment
• Can be used as eye protection for patients with corneal abrasions, e.g. to keep the eyes closed during surgery. Helps to maintain eye moisture
