The 3M™ Kerramax Care™ Border Superabsorbent Wound Dressing with Adhesive Border combines high absorbency with secure fixation. The border design encloses the wound in a sterile manner and provides effective protection against external influences.
The Kerramax Care dressing is a primary or secondary dressing with advanced Exu-Safe™ technology to improve exudate management. The superabsorbent dressings are available with and without an adhesive edge.
How does it work?
The soft non-woven material on both sides makes the patient feel comfortable and ensures excellent transpiration. The unique horizontal capillary layer absorbs serous and viscous exudate1 and distributes it evenly horizontally and vertically through the dressing. This utilises full absorbency and prevents swelling.2, 3 The super-absorbent core traps exudate,*4 bacteria*5 and matrix metal proteinases (MMPs)5*, reducing the risk of maceration and complications - even under compression.*4 The soft, flexible, heat-sealed edge profile prevents soaking of the patient's skin and remains clean over a long period of time. It also ensures the patient's comfort.
When should the product be used?
Kerramax Care dressings are suitable for acute and chronic wounds that exude moderately to very heavily, including
- Venous ulcers
- Pressure ulcers
- Diabetic foot ulcers
Suitable for use under all types of compression.
Properties
- Absorbs and binds large amounts of exudate6*
- Soft, comfortable on the skin and foldable1
- Easy to apply1 (can be used on both sides)
- Traps bacteria7* and MMPs8*
