3M™ Cavilon™ Non-irritant Skin Protection - the original - is an alcohol-free skin protection film that dries quickly and forms a breathable and transparent protective film on the skin.
It was developed to protect intact, damaged or "at risk skin" from urine, faeces, body fluids and skin injuries caused by medical adhesives and friction. It protects for up to 72 hours and does not sting irritated or damaged skin.
Properties
- Barrier against bodily fluids for optimised continence care
- Alcohol-free, does not sting, comfortable application even on irritated and damaged skin
- Supports the healing process of irritated, damaged skin
- Quick-drying and non-sticky for easy application and patient comfort
- Compatible with skin preparation products (e.g. chlorhexidine gluconate and povidone iodine)

- Helps to prevent IAD (incontinence-associated dermatitis)
- Skin protection around stomas and drains
- Skin protection at the wound edge/wound environment
