The pure encapsulations® vitamin B2 capsules are a food supplement. Vitamin B2 contributes to normal energy metabolism, to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and to the function of the nervous system.

Water-soluble vitamin from the B complex

Riboflavin (vitamin B2), which belongs to the B group of vitamins, is particularly important for nerve function and energy metabolism. It occurs in the human body as a coenzyme in two active forms, namely as flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) and flavin mononucleotide (FMN), which is also known as riboflavin-5-phosphate. With the help of these coenzymes, the B vitamins folic acid and vitamin B6, among others, are converted into their active forms.

Among other things, vitamin B2 contributes to normal energy metabolism and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. It also helps to protect cells from oxidative stress, as the vitamin is involved in maintaining the body's supply of reduced glutathione. Riboflavin is excreted in the urine, which causes the characteristic yellow colouration of the urine when vitamin B2 is consumed in large quantities.
