Since the positive experiences in the ARED study, patients with more advanced forms of age-related macular degeneration - AMD have been advised to take high doses of vitamins and minerals. In another large study - AREDS2 - the new scientific findings have led to a modification of the previous AREDS composition. With protectoMac®, you now have a preparation at your disposal that allows you to supplement your therapy with a combination of 6 micronutrients (vitamins, trace elements & carotenoids). This is particularly important for the immune and nervous system, and the antioxidants also protect the body from free radicals.
