preval OIL BATH is used for the care and accompanying treatment of dry skin (sebostasis), which is particularly common in ageing people, ichthyosis, allergic diseases (neurodermatitis atopica) and in the phototherapy of psoriasis.

preval OIL BATH is a moisturising emulsion bath that protects and cares for dry and sensitive skin while bathing:

• Supports the skin's barrier function
• Maintains the skin's natural moisture
• Has a soothing effect on the skin
• Noticeably reduces itching and feelings of tightness
• Contains grape seed oil containing linoleic acid

preval OIL BATH is also an excellent care product for the skin, especially if its oily film has been disturbed or removed by detergents, frequent showers or the use of swimming pools with various additives.

preval OIL BATH contains linoleic acid (grape seed oil) as well as pure hydrocarbons (paraffin oil), which are practically not absorbed and reduce transepidermal water loss thanks to their occlusive properties.

preval OIL BATH is distributed in water in a very fine skin-affinity form and is particularly well absorbed by the skin. There is no unpleasant greasy film on the skin or inside the bath tub at the recommended dosage, which is why it is not necessary to shower off after the bath.

preval OIL BATH ensures sufficient cleansing of the skin so that additional skin cleansing is not necessary.

preval OIL BATH is lightly perfumed and therefore combines the aim of skin cleansing with that of skin care in a cosmetically pleasant way.

Dry skin

Dry skin occurs when the transepidermal water loss is increased due to a disturbed barrier function. This malfunction can be caused by a lack of epidermal lipids containing linoleic acid ceramides. It has been scientifically proven that this deficiency can be remedied by the external supply of oils containing linoleic acid, which also normalises the barrier properties. However, dry skin can also occur if the ambient air is very dry or if the skin is exposed to heat and/or UV radiation.

How to use

• 15-30 ml (1-2 tablespoons) per full bath is sufficient for an immediately noticeable moisturising effect.
• Bath duration: approx. 10 - 15 minutes.
• Skin care with full baths 2-3 times a week is recommended.
