- Microorganisms constantly form deposits, known as dental plaque, on the tooth surfaces and between the teeth.

Dosage form
How to use
- Use octenimed® twice a day (after meals and after brushing your teeth).
- Fill 10 ml into the measuring cup provided.
- If you use octenimed® immediately after brushing your teeth, rinse your mouth thoroughly with water before using the medicine.
- Rinse your mouth thoroughly for about 30 seconds.
- Then spit out the solution. The solution should not be swallowed.
- Do not rinse your mouth with water immediately afterwards.
- Use this medicine as directed by your doctor or for no longer than five consecutive days.
- Special instructions: octenimed® is intended for superficial use only. It must not be introduced deep into the tissue, for example with a syringe or blunt cannula, in order to avoid irritation of the surrounding tissue, which can range from slight swelling to severe tissue necrosis. In particular, it should not be used to irrigate periodontal pockets, root canals or wound cavities after dental surgery. The medicine is only intended for rinsing in the mouth and should not be swallowed. It should therefore only be used in patients who are able to rinse their mouth. Avoid contact with the eyes. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately and thoroughly with water. Temporary discolouration of the tongue may occur, which will disappear after the end of treatment. Discolouration of the teeth may also occur, which can be removed.
Ingredients
- Composition: One ml solution contains 1 mg octenidine dihydrochloride.
- Other ingredients: Glycerol 85 %, sodium D-gluconate, citric acid, sodium monohydrogen phosphate dihydrate (Ph.Eur.) (for pH adjustment), macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate (Ph.Eur.), sucralose, purified water, mint cool flavour (contains propylene glycol).
