infasource® - Normocaloric drinking and tube feed for growth and failure to thrive. Food for special medical purposes (balanced diet). For diet management with increased energy requirements in infants and young children.

Suitable as the sole source of nutrition for infants from birth; suitable for supplementary nutrition for children over 1 year of age.

Indications

For diet management with increased energy requirements in infants and young children, e.g. as a result of

• Chronic diseases such as heart disease, oncological or neurological diseases
• Acute complaints following operations, transplants or trauma
• Prolonged hospitalisation and a resulting increased complication rate and increased susceptibility to illness
• Fluid restriction, e.g. in renal and cardiac insufficiency

• Fat: Nutritionally high-quality vegetable oils (sunflower, palm, coconut and rapeseed oil), fish oil and oil from Mortierella alpina
• Carbohydrates: maltodextrin, lactose
• Protein: 100% high-quality partially hydrolysed whey protein
• Dietary fibre: Without dietary fibre

Directions for use

• The amount of food and liquid required should be determined by the attending physician. Always follow the instructions for use of the product.
• Important notes: Use under medical supervision. Suitable from birth as the sole source of nutrition; from the 1st year for supplementary nutrition. When used as tube feeding: Do not mix with other food or medicines. Not for parenteral use. Breastfeeding offers babies the best start in life. Foods for special medical purposes (balanced diets) are intended for the dietary management of specific medical indications and must be used under medical supervision after all nutritional options, including breastfeeding, have been fully assessed.
• Contraindication: Not suitable for premature babies and those allergic to cow's milk.
