Selenium is an essential trace element that has become rare in the soils of Central Europe. Especially in vegan diets and in some particularly "selenium-poor" regions such as the Alps and the foothills of the Alps, a selenium deficiency can occur.

The production process follows a natural principle. Plants utilise selenium by absorbing it from the soil and incorporating it into their plant bodies. In the process, it is converted into organic selenium. The same happens with quinoa seedlings, which are watered with sodium selenate during the germination process. It also contains a variety of other naturally grown vital substances that it needs for its healthy growth and produces itself. At the end of the growth process, the ripened seedlings are thoroughly washed and the nutrient water is removed, dried and ground. This plant-based form of selenium is very suitable for supplying selenium, does not interact with other micronutrients and is embedded as an antioxidant in a natural matrix of other antioxidant ingredients that neutralise each other.

Selenium from quinoa seedlings is also available in a formulation with iodine from kelp algae extract.
