Xailin® HA eye drops contain a high-purity fraction of hyaluronic acid sodium salt. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring, biocompatible polysaccharide with unique film-forming and water-binding properties. Hyaluronic acid leads to prolonged wetting of the corneal surface.
In addition, Xailin® HA contains a disappearing preservative that breaks down into water and oxygen on contact with the eye. This minimises the irritation that can be caused by traditional preservatives, while maintaining the comfort of a multi-dose system.
Xailin® HA is used to moisten and protect the eye and provides relief from dry eye symptoms such as burning, irritation or grittiness. These symptoms can have various causes if the normal tears are of poor quality or tear production is too low to keep the eye sufficiently moisturised. Xailin® HA is suitable for contact lens wearers.

Ingredients
Xailin® HA eye drops contain sodium hyaluronate 0.2 % m/V and sodium perborate in an aqueous, buffered carrier solution. Xailin® HA contains a highly pure, specific fraction of hyaluronic acid sodium salt, which is obtained by bacterial fermentation , and is therefore free from animal proteins.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring, biocompatible polysaccharide with unique viscoelastic and hygroscopic properties. In the eye , hyaluronic acid is found in the vitreous body, the lacrimal glands, the corneal epithelium, the conjunctiva and the human tear fluid. Hyaluronic acid has mucoadhesive properties and the ability to bind water, and it is known to influence the distribution of water in the corneal stroma. Together with the film-forming properties of hyaluronic acid, this leads to increased pre-corneal residence time and tear film break-up time, resulting in prolonged wetting of the corneal surface. Hyaluronic acid is currently added to contact lens products to increasethe wetting and comfort of contact lenses.
Xailin® HA contains a disappearing preservative that breaks down into water and oxygen on contact with your eye. This minimises the irritation that traditional preservatives can cause, while maintaining the comfort of a multi-dose system. All you feel is the soothing relief of the eye drops.
