Product information "Weleda Visiodoron Euphrasia comp.® eye ointment"
Visiodoron Euphrasia comp. eye ointment is a homeopathic medicinal product based on anthroposophic principles. It is suitable for use in cases of conjunctivitis, blepharitis, chalazion and stye.
The indications are derived from the homeopathic drug pictures and
anthroposophical understanding of humanity and nature.
The following indications are authorised for this medicine:
To support the healing of:
- uncomplicated conjunctivitis
- blepharitis, characterised by eyelids sticking together in the morning
- chalazion, characterised by a usually painless, nodular swelling at the edge of the eyelid
- stye (hordeolum), characterised by a painful inflammation at the edge of the eyelid, including cases prone to recurrence
The use of this homeopathic medicine, based on anthroposophic principles, in
the aforementioned indications is based exclusively on anthroposophic experience.
In severe forms of these conditions, clinically proven treatment is indicated.
This medicine is intended for use in adults, adolescents and children aged one year and over.
It should only be used in children under one year of age after consulting a doctor.
If you do not feel better after 2 days, or if your condition worsens, consult your doctor.
The combination of eyebright, marigold and echinacea relieves the symptoms of conjunctivitis, inflammation of the eyelid margins, styes and hordeola. Eyebright relieves symptoms (itching, burning, pain) of an inflamed, watery and reddened eye. Calendula and echinacea have anti-inflammatory properties and promote the healing process. Echinacea also has a stimulating effect on the immune system.
- Tip for a stye: In most cases, the stye opens of its own accord after a few days; the discharge drains away and the inflammation heals without complications. Dry heat from red light therapy helps the stye to ‘mature’ and the discharge to break through. Under no circumstances should you attempt to manipulate the swelling yourself. If not handled properly, the condition may worsen. If necessary, an ophthalmologist will drain the stye.
- Recommendation for conjunctivitis: For conjunctivitis, we recommend using Visiodoron Euphrasia eye drops (also available in single-dose vials) or Visiodoron Calendula eye drops during the day. The eye ointment is particularly suitable for use overnight. Simply apply a small amount of ointment to the conjunctival sac just before going to bed and leave it to work overnight.
