The star anise tree has the distinctive characteristic that, in its natural environment, it is generally not affected by pests or diseases. This is due to the high levels of essential oils found in the tree’s fruit and other parts, which protect the tree from pathogens. Among the essential oils it contains is shikimic acid, whose antibacterial and antiviral properties have been investigated in numerous studies.

- Nutrients per daily dose (2 capsules) provides 800 mg of plant-based active ingredients, of which: Organic star anise 800 mg contains 6–8% essential oils and 4–8% shikimic acid.
