Vitaworld Selenium 200 µg tablets are a dietary supplement containing the essential trace element selenium. Contains 200 µg selenium per tablet.

Selenium is found in all organs and tissues of the human body and is essential for health. First and foremost, selenium is one of the important antioxidants whose task is to protect the body from free radicals so that they do not pass through the cell walls into the interior of the cells and then destroy the entire cell. In addition to the positive effect on the immune system, the central nervous system and the reproductive organs require an adequate supply of selenium.

Compared to North American farmland, the selenium content in European soils is rather low, which also explains why food grown in Europe is on average lower in selenium and why selenium deficiency is much more widespread here than in America, for example.

Taking too much selenium generally has no negative consequences, as the body normally excretes excess selenium in the urine. These tablets, which contain a particularly high dose of 200 µg selenium, help to effectively prevent a selenium deficiency, especially in the case of a selenium-deficient diet.
