- Vitamin A contributes to normal iron metabolism and the maintenance of normal vision and has a function in cell specialisation. It also contributes to the maintenance of normal skin and normal mucous membranes.
- Vitamin C not only strengthens the body's defences, it also has many other important functions in the human body: As an antioxidant, it helps to neutralise free radicals. It supports the nervous system and energy metabolism. Vitamin C reduces tiredness and fatigue and supports the psyche. It also protects the blood vessels and supports collagen formation in cartilage and bones.

- The important antioxidant selenium protects the body from free radicals, preventing them from penetrating the cell walls and destroying the entire cell. Selenium also has a positive effect on the immune system, and the central nervous system and reproductive organs are also dependent on a sufficient supply of selenium.
- Zinc is required by the body for numerous metabolic processes. Starting with protein synthesis and cell division, through many hormones that cannot function without zinc, to the immune system, digestion, haematopoiesis and sperm production, for which zinc is essential.
