Effects & benefits of Vitamaze 5-HTP

5-HTP is extracted from the African climbing shrub Griffonia simplicifolia, or more precisely, from the seeds of this black bean. This bean contains up to 20% 5-hydroxy-tryptophan (5-HTP). 5-HTP is an intermediate product of the amino acid tryptophan in the liver, which then provides a basic substance for the neurotransmitter serotonin.

5-HTP cannot be absorbed through the normal diet. The natural extract, obtained from Griffonia simplicifolia, provides the body with the bioactive form of 5-HTP, which it can best absorb.
