The Nutri Store galangal pellets are a dietary supplement containing 450 mg galangal root per daily dose.

The galangal plant (Alpinia officinarum) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to the tropics. It has a creeping rhizome from which pink to reddish coloured side shoots branch off. The rhizome contains essential oil and resins (galangol, alpinol), which give it its pungent, aromatic flavour reminiscent of ginger. Galangal also contains a large number of bioflavonoids.

Galangal roots are highly valued as a spice and vegetable in South East Asia. Galangal is an ingredient in spice mixtures (e.g. curry) and is also used in the production of herbal liqueurs. In Europe, galangal is mainly known as a gingerbread spice. Hildegard von Bingen already recommended galangal as a valuable spice plant. Galangal gives dishes a spicy, Asian, Far Eastern flavour.

Each galangal pellet contains 75 mg galangal root powder. Just 6 tablets supplement the daily diet with 450 mg galangal root.
