The Nutri Store Pomegranate Extract Capsules are a food supplement with 500 mg pomegranate extract per capsule and with at least 40% ellagic acid and 30 mg vitamin C. Rich in secondary plant substances.

The pomegranate is one of the oldest cultivated plants known to man. The Spanish city of Granada and the scarlet-coloured semi-precious stone garnet owe their name to it. In the East, the pomegranate has always been a symbol of sensuality and immortality. It is said to have been the tree of life in the Garden of Eden. In medieval alchemy, the pomegranate was regarded as a life-prolonging fruit. In ancient China, too, the reddish juice was the "concentrated soul" and symbolised longevity.

Pomegranate fruits contain large amounts of secondary plant substances, such as polyphenols (flavonoids, tannins). The polyphenol ellagic acid is of particular importance, and the pomegranate extract is supplemented with vitamin C, which helps to protect the cells from oxidative stress. Vitamin C also contributes to the normal function of the immune system.
