The Nutri Store Hawthorn Crataegus 500 mg capsules are a food supplement with secondary plant substances from Crataegus - hawthorn. Each capsule contains 450 mg hawthorn (leaves, flowers, fruits).
Hawthorn (Crataegus) is native to the northern regions of Europe. On roadsides and hedges it stands out from May to June with its lush, white flowers and later with its shiny red fruits. Together with the flowers, the pointed thorns on the branches give the plant its name. The fruits of the hawthorn have a sour-sweet flavour and are made into compote or jelly. In times of need, the fruits were eaten as puree and the dried pulp was used as a flour additive in bread baking.
The most important ingredients of hawthorn leaves and fruits are flavonoids, which are secondary plant substances. Each capsule contains 450 mg of high-quality hawthorn powder from leaves, flowers and fruits, plus iron and folic acid (folate). Iron and folate contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Iron supports normal energy metabolism and oxygen transport in the body. Folate has a function in cell division and contributes to normal haematopoiesis. Hawthorn Crataegus capsules are a natural product. There may be variations in the colour of the capsules. This does not affect the quality of the product.
